Katy Perry is not a fan of the new Chief Keef song, "Hate Being Sober." The pop star took to her Twitter account earlier this week, saying she'd just heard it on the radio and it gave her "serious doubt for the world."
Just heard a new song on the radio called "I hate being sober" I now have serious doubt for the world.— Katy Perry (@katyperry) May 21, 2013
She's now apologizing to the rapper but sticking to her ground when it comes to content that glamorizes alcohol and partying. On Thursday, Katy tweeted that she didn't mean to offend Chief Keef and didn't even know it was his song at first. She continued, saying that she just has "a general opinion on our generation's desire to be constantly intoxicated." To make sure there were no hard feelings, Katy added, "Believe me, I'm a lover not a hater."
Mr. Keef! I'm sorry if I offended you. I heard a lot of people guesting on the song & didn't even know it was you in particular. Actually...— Katy Perry (@katyperry) May 24, 2013
I'm a fan of your "Don't Like" video tbh. I was really just having a general opinion on our generations desire to be constantly intoxicated.— Katy Perry (@katyperry) May 24, 2013
